After a hailstorm: five things to do before you call anyone

The hours after a hailstorm matter. Photograph the car from all sides while the dents are fresh, including the roof, bonnet and boot. Take wide shots and close ones, ideally in soft light, and keep the date stamp.

Check for broken glass, lights and mouldings, because those are replaced rather than repaired. Move the car under cover if more weather is coming.
